How Roundup Crew works

A parent creates a crew and adds the family. Chores either get assigned to someone or posted to the board, where anyone eligible can claim them first-come, first-served. When a chore gets done and a parent confirms it, it becomes a contribution — the family record of who pitched in — and any reward attached to it is credited automatically.

Doing a chore

  1. Open it. On Today, Board, or Chores, tap any chore card to see its details and actions.
  2. Claim it (board chores only) — claiming moves it off the board and onto your plate.
  3. Mark it done. When you’ve finished the work, hit Mark done in the chore’s detail panel.
  4. A parent confirms. Done chores wait for a parent’s check. Confirming logs the contribution and credits the reward; sending it back reopens the chore with a note about what still needs doing.

What does “Nudge” do?

Nudge sends a friendly reminder notification to whoever holds the chore — nothing more. It doesn’t change the chore or its due date, and it’s rate-limited so nobody gets pestered twice in a row.

Rewards: money, points, and privileges

A chore can carry a dollar amount, points, or a privilege (“pick Friday’s movie”). Rewards are credited when a parent confirms the completed chore, and each member’s running totals live on their profile under The Crew. Chores with a shield are mandatory — they’re part of pulling your weight and usually aren’t paid.

Streaks

Finish a confirmed chore on a given day and that day counts toward your streak. Keep it going day after day; miss a day and it resets. Streaks are about showing up, not about the size of the chore.

Parents vs. kids

Parents create and edit chores, confirm completions, manage members, and handle billing. Kids see their own chores and the board, mark work done, claim open chores they’re eligible for, and watch their rewards add up.

Common questions

I claimed a chore but changed my mind. Open it and decline it back to the board — no harm done.

Why can’t I claim a board chore? Some open chores are restricted to certain crew members or have a minimum age. If it’s not for you, it won’t let you claim it.

A chore was confirmed by mistake. A parent can reverse a confirmation from the chore’s history — the contribution and reward are clawed back and the chore reopens.
